Privacy Policy
Last updated 5 November 2026
This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use perzano.com and the Perzano app, why, and what rights you have. Kite Lab Limited is the data controller. We follow the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
What we collect
- Waitlist: your first name (optional) and email address, plus where you came from (for example a link in a video).
- Account: your email address, a hashed password, your plan, and sign-in times and device information used to keep your account to one device at a time.
- Use of the app: the searches, markets and budgets you enter, products you save, and daily usage counts for your plan's allowance.
- Payments: handled by Paddle, our merchant of record. Paddle collects your name, billing address, payment details and tax information under its own privacy policy. We receive your email, plan, subscription status and order reference, never your card details.
- Support: whatever you send us when you email hello@perzano.com or use the in-app feedback form.
- Technical: standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) kept by our hosting provider for security and to run the site.
Why we use it
- To provide the Service you signed up for (contract).
- To bill you and manage your subscription (contract).
- To keep the Service secure, enforce one-device-per-account and prevent abuse (legitimate interests).
- To email you about Perzano: your account, changes to the Service, and, if you joined the waitlist, when we open and what's new. You can unsubscribe from product emails at any time; account and billing emails are part of the Service.
- To improve the Service, using aggregated usage information that does not identify you (legitimate interests).
Who we share it with
Only providers that help us run Perzano, under contract and only for that purpose:
- Supabase — database and account authentication.
- Cloudflare — hosting and security for the site and app.
- Paddle — payments, tax and invoicing (merchant of record).
- Email service — to send account and product emails.
- Market-data providers such as Keepa receive the search terms and product identifiers needed to return data; they do not receive your name or email.
Some of these providers are outside the UK (for example in the United States). Where that is the case we rely on the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or an adequacy decision.
We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising.
How long we keep it
- Waitlist details: until you unsubscribe or we close the waitlist.
- Account and app data: while your account is open, then deleted within 90 days of closure unless we must keep it for legal or accounting reasons.
- Billing records: 6 years, as required by UK tax law.
- Server logs: up to 30 days.
Cookies
perzano.com uses no advertising or tracking cookies. The app stores a sign-in token in your browser so you stay logged in; that is strictly necessary for the Service and needs no consent banner.
Perzano Chrome extension
The free Perzano extension runs only on Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk search result pages. When a search page loads, it reads what that page shows for the first organic listings: price, star rating, review count, the "bought in past month" badge and pack size from the title. It sends only those numbers, the search term and the marketplace to our server to work out the page-one read, then shows the result to you.
The extension does not read or send your name, email, Amazon account, order history, browsing history or any page other than Amazon search results. It needs no login, sets no cookies and has no tracking or analytics. Our server does not store what the extension sends. In your browser it keeps whether you closed the panel and, if you are a Perzano member who connected the extension, a private extension key. For connected members, the extension also sends the ASINs of the organic listings on the search page with that key, so we can return product data for them; each lookup counts toward your plan's Niche Microscope allowance. Disconnect at any time from the extension's menu. Remove the extension at any time from Chrome's extensions page.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. Email hello@perzano.com and we will respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
We may update this policy; the date at the top shows when. If a change matters to how we use your data, we will tell you by email or in the app.
